Toshiba Regza 55ZV650U Led TV
The Toshiba Regza - Quality LED TV
Toshiba Regza 55ZV650U 55-inch Widescreen 1080p Full HD LED TV 240Hz
Toshiba have recently launched the REGZA SV LED TV series and very impressive they are too! Combining state of the art Full HD 1080p picture processing with stunning design the Toshiba Regza 55ZV650U is a real quality piece of equipment.
The REGZA SV Series is the first Toshiba series to feature LED Local Dimming backlight technology and it certainly resulst in deep, genuine blacks and rich bright highlights.
Coupled with the Active Vision M200HD 240Hz picture processing the picture produced by the Toshiba Regza 55ZV650U is the clearest, smoothest and most vivid picture quality to they have produced to date. Although to be fair all LEDs should have better picture quality than their LCD and Plasma predecessors!
Some Annoying Porblems Ironed Out
I also really liked the Dolby Volume control which stops those annoying fluctuations in volume when the commercials appear or you switch channels or sources.
Another interesting technology innovation is "Resolution+" which claims to take account of the ambient room conditions to optimise the picture for the best possible viewing no matter how conditions change. I'm not sure I've really noticed the difference but maybe that just confirms
that it works?? I'm not sure on this one though.
Many LED TV's suffer from poor sound quality and to be fair the Toshiba Regza 55ZV650U is probably slightly better than the Samsung range.
But, it's my view that this is a problem with all LED TVs due to their inherent thiness. I would suggest that if someone is prepared to pay this amount for their viewing they would probably couple with a surround system anyway...that solves the problem of course.
For my money, the picture quality of the Regza series is as good as it gets in LED TV at the current state of technology.
For a 55 inch screen the Toshiba Regza 55ZV650U projects a top notch viewing experience, rich, deep colours and at 240 Mhz all fast action remains crystal clear. It's an amazing experience to watch full 1080P HD inputs for hi-octane action and sport. I'm totally addicted!

More Innovation on the Regza LED TV
There are a couple of other features that are also worthy of mention.
Firstly the Toshiba Regza 55ZV650U has a special "game" mode which is superb for gaming. I don't game an awful lot but the quality of games does appear slightly enhanced and it does seem a bit easier to follow the on screen action...easier on the eye maybe? Again, it's a dificult one to discern the difference, it's almost a perception, but I think (perceive) gaming is better! I ought to add I don't have HD gaming input though.
One thing I really do like is that the Toshiba Regza 55ZV650U LED TV allows you to switch HDMI channels immediately. Most HD TVs have an inherent delay in HMDI channel switching. This TV makes changing HMDI channels the same speed as a normal channel change which
is very cool indeed. It's one of those little annoyances that have been ironed out which we wouldn't appreciate until we went back to the old way of changing HDMI channels!
I think I've banged on about the technology a bit too much here, but...the Toshiba Regza 55ZV650U provides a superb viewing experience, especially when coupled with true 1080 HD input (HD Box / Blu Ray / XBox). An expensive "toy" but worth it in my humble opinion!
